Kaziikini Campsite

Description and Facilities

Kaziikini Campsite

Maun,

You can never fully say you have been to Botswana if you don’t get a chance to experience the traditional Setswana life!

The campsite is a self catering facility but if you prefer you can pre - book your meals with the Reservations Office in Maun. You are also advised to provide your country of residence and if accompanied by children provide their ages when making an enquiry or booking through the contact form on the website.

Kaziikini is a budget environmentally friendly, self-catering campsite. Campers all use the central ablution facility (hot showers, flush toilets in open air reed & canvas constructions) that use solar power to heat water and provide lighting for both the ablutions and the restaurant. Gas geysers have been put in place as a back up to the solar unit during raining season.

One of these toilets is a recycling water toilet and has been working very well ever since it was installed. The water for the campsites is pumped from a sealed borehole by solar power and is safe to drink direct from the tap.

Also available are two tents of canvas and thatch, each with en-suit bathrooms, twin - three quarter beds & built on raised decks.

Hippo hideout Bar/ Mogogelo Restaurant - bar and restaurant provide full catering to those guests who are not self catering, BUT PLEASE organise with the office when booking prior to arrival. Home made bread and snacks can be ordered from the restaurant.

There is also a curio shop at reception and firewood for sale.
